“Televators” - Mars Volta (Limited Edition Print Signed by Storm Thorgerson)
The image in this limited edition silkscreen print was created by Storm Thorgerson for a band with whom he had a very fruitful relationship - the Mars Volta. Televators was a single release from their album Deloused in the Comatorium (for which Storm also designed the cover) and Storm's haunting image of fluid, ghostly figures floating past the suicidal hero in the wheelchair was inspired by a lyric in the song itself: "Did you see the curse that flew right by you?". Storm said that "The jetty was chosen to represent what was (at the far end) and what is (near the camera) and also refers to the bridge from which the tragic hero in the Mars Volta story threw himself. The low, strong winter sun in the calm waters of the lake infuses the image with a Scandinavian vibe." The edition has been printed on a Somerset paper by the esteemed Coriander Studios in London, UK.
